Today I met a girl,Sue, on my flight to Mumbai for work.

She sat next to me on the window seat and kept taking

pictures of the view outside her window,

while the flight took off. Another over excited fellow,

I thought in my head and looked at the air hostess,

who explained the flight safety rules for the nth time

in my life. I flipped the pages of the magazine,

the last page said “lucky passenger on this flight

gets a new mobile phone” I shut the magazine

saying “nonsense” and there I caught Sue’s attention,

can I have that magazine?”

she asked. She called the flight attendant and asked

the rules of the lucky draw.

Me: seriously ! Do you believe in luck?

Sue : well my whole life depends on luck.

I am the luckiest girl to be sitting here on an aeroplane

with you.Me: sitting here is no big deal.everybody

can sit in a flight. life is harsh and we have to work

hard to achieve our goals. Luck cannot do anything

.

Sue :everybody cannot sit in a flight.10 years ago

I was scared that I might not be able to continue

my studies because my father could not afford

my further education. I was brought up in a government

owned ashram where my father worked as a peon.

The government supported education only till

class 10. But with my teacher’s help I met a sponsor.

Someone I didn't know, didn't ever meet was

ready to support me, to believe in me,

I really could not believe my luck. Today,

I work with a reputed bank.

learn enough to support my father and younger brother.

I truly believe that I am blessed to be sitting in a plane.

I am the luckiest girl in the world.

I was speechless,  for me traveling for work was such

a big hassle and here I met someone who was thrilled

to be in the same situation. A small conversation has

changed my perspective towards life.

Being a daddy's princess I had never seen life from the

other side. For me education or owning a house

was something very basic.Something

which everyone had.But today I realized how travel

changes your ideas and views in life.

Today I got off the flight with a feeling of thankfulness

and a mission to sponsor and change the life

of at least one kid.
